More about Roberta

Stories from mythology, ancient Greek and Latin literature as well as philosophy and art history shaped my imagination and stirred my curiosity in the human psyche.

At the age of twenty-six I moved to London and was offered a lectureship in Italian language and contemporary literature at Royal Holloway, University of London. Classical dancing morphed into more contemporary styles of expressive movement until I fell in love with Okido Yoga and the philosophy of Japanese master Masahiro Oki. The daily practice of Okido yoga taught me the importance of living a balanced life and of working in harmony with others.

I have travelled the world, learning new languages and absorbing different ways of living from around the globe. The rich diversity of humanity, different religious beliefs, new customs and the natural beauty of unfamiliar lands left a deep impression on my soul.

In my early thirties I gave birth to my two daughters and became interested in childhood development and qualified as a Waldorf Steiner teacher.

In the late 90s I had my first therapy session with a humanistic psychotherapist and I knew I had arrived home to myself. I still vividly remember that hour: time stopped, inner borders expanded, I had stumbled upon myself, in the stillness of a small room, searching for the meaning of that furious motion, in the presence of a kind-hearted stranger who was eager to share the gift of therapy with me.

I currently run a successful private practice in North London, I facilitate a psycho-educational group for Italian Londoners and a Couples Group.  Dreams, metaphors and body awareness are central to the way I work as a clinician. I am very much influenced by the work of Carl Jung and Stanley Keleman.

Alongside my clinical work, I have been doing Vision Quests and participating and facilitating Ways of Council circles since 2016.

I find it exciting to play an active role in responding to the current environment and applying different approaches to understanding and making our way within it. It has been my life-long vision to be an educator at the heart of a progressive community.
