WELCOME TO HOMA
A non-academic, experiential, equitable
Diploma in Humanistic Counselling & Psychotherapy
Our approach to Humanistic counselling and psychotherapy is intentionally non-academic and deeply experiential, placing your lived experience, creativity, and growth at the centre of learning.
Designed for trainees from all walks of life, this course fosters not just professional competence but a deepening of personal and relational skills. At Homa, you’ll explore what it means to be a therapist who is socially aware, culturally attuned, and deeply welcoming of every human experience.
Rooted in the richness of Humanistic theories, drawing on Gestalt, Person-Centred, and Transactional Analysis approaches, our curriculum goes beyond traditional teaching. You’ll engage with Formative Psychology, Embodied Movement, Art Psychotherapy, and Ecotherapy practices that invite you to learn through experience, connection, and self-discovery.
This integrated approach is designed to help you grow into a therapist who can truly meet others with openness, compassion, and curiosity.
ADVANCING SOCIAL JUSTICE IN PSYCHOTHERAPY
A Training Cohort for Diverse Voices and Equitable Representation

We are offering 50% of our places to trainees from the Global Majority (Black, Brown, mixed heritage and Indigenous communities) and 50% to white trainees.
Enriching the Learning Experience for All
At Homa we are proud to offer an equitable approach to psychotherapy training. Our course is intentionally designed to have 50% of trainees from the Global Majority and 50% from white backgrounds. This balanced approach is not just about fairness and Social Justice, it’s about creating an enriching and transformative learning experience for everyone involved.
Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from anyone who feels drawn to Humanistic psychotherapy and is committed to personal, relational, and collective growth.
We are inspired by Professor George Dei’s powerful perspective on inclusion: “Inclusion is not about bringing people into what already exists; it is about creating a new space, a better space for everyone.”
Whether you identify as part of the Global Majority or come from a white background, we warmly invite you to join this pioneering training cohort. Together, we can co-create a new, better space.
At Homa, we honour and celebrate intersectionality. We invite applications from queer, trans, disabled, neurodivergent, and working-class people, people of all body shapes and sizes, backgrounds, and life experiences. We recognize and value the richness that comes from holding multiple identities. All of you is welcome.
Join us at Homa. Together, we can help build a psychotherapy profession that reflects and respects the full spectrum of human experience, where intersectionality, inclusion, and humanistic values come together to transform both trainees and the profession.

These themes are woven into the fabric of the training as well as having their own distinct, in-depth modules.
