Honouring Jenner Roth, Co-Founder of Spectrum

Jener Roth Obituary

It is with deep gratitude that we honour the life and legacy of Jenner Roth, co-founder of Spectrum, Centre for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy in north London alongside her husband Terry Cooper, later joined by Maggie McKenzie as a director.

Under their leadership, Spectrum grew to become the largest training centre of its kind in the UK. Distinguished by its bold, experiential and growth-oriented approach, Spectrum stood firm against the prevailing medical model of psychotherapy and helped shape the landscape of humanistic practice for over four decades.

Jenner’s leadership and wisdom created a place where countless therapists, including the founders of Homa, found not only outstanding training but community, integrity, and the encouragement, in Jenner's words, to “Find out who you are and be true to it as best you can.”

Homa carries that spirit forward. Our training is rooted in the same tradition of presence, curiosity and authenticity that Jenner established at Spectrum. We remain indebted to her generosity and inspiration and we are privileged to continue building on the foundations she laid.

Jenner’s legacy lives on in every therapist she trained, in every client they work with and in our ongoing work to keep humanistic psychotherapy vibrant, bold, and true.
