More about Emma

When it came time to select my therapy training, it was easy. I wanted to train where my therapist had trained. I wanted a professional life built on commitment, awareness and a lived experience of what actually helps. 

I’ve now spent over a decade working with individuals, couples and teenagers, supporting them to find out who they are and what living a satisfying life means to them. I’m proud to be part of a team that is passing on the skills, tools and learning that has allowed me to do this work so satisfyingly.

 

Psychotherapy Qualifications and Training

 

I trained as a Humanistic Psychotherapist at Spectrum, at the time the largest centre and practice for Humanistic Psychology in Europe and a UKCP accredited organisation. I have been awarded a Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

 

As part of my training at Spectrum I completed the following courses:

  • Cert 1 Year Course in Psychotherapy

  • Cert 1 Year Continuation Course in Psychotherapy

  • Cert Postgraduate Course in Psychotherapy

  • 14 years of Spectrum Post Graduate Continuation Course in   Psychotherapy (2008-21)

  • Certificate in Counselling Skills

  • Basic Sexuality

  • Anger in the Therapy Room

  • Working with Groups

  • Action Techniques

  • Childhood Sexual Abuse

  • Developing Clinical Skills

  • PAIRs Couples Training 

  • Gestalt – Theory and Practice

  • Making Boundaries - Somatic Psychotherapy Practice.

Other Training and Qualifications

 

I have also completed a 12 month specialist psycho-educational professional training programme with Beyond Chocolate which provides people with practical steps and support to create a happier and more satisfying relationship with food, eating and body esteem.

 

I have completed the One Year PAIRS Relationships Training. I combine the skills and strategies developed in this US-based programme with a 12-month Couples Training Programme undertaken at Spectrum.

I have completed Terry Real's Relational Life Training for Therapists Working With Couples.
